Saints Netball is proud to announce that we have signed Scotland’s Mental Health Charter for Physical Activity & Sport

The purpose of Scotland’s Mental Health Charter for Physical Activity and Sport is to use the collective power of physical activity and sport to create positive lasting change in mental health and wellbeing. The Charter encourages participation in physical activity and sport as a way to maintain and improve mental health and wellbeing. The Charter supports anyone involved in physical activity and sport at grassroots to elite level to talk about mental health and wellbeing, and to know where to go to get help.

At Saints Netball the netball court is our safe space where we support each other, respect one another, and strive to be the best we can be, both on and off court.

Everybody at Saints Netball understands the benefits of physical activity on mental health and that belief must cover our support to our members both on and off the court.  We understand the positive role our club plays in the lives of our members and we are working hard to ensure that leads to positive behaviours around mental health and wellbeing.  We believe that through signing up to this charter and delivering our action plan we will make a greater impact in our positive work around mental health and achieve our commitment to the enhanced wellbeing of our players, coaches and volunteers.

We also know our work in this area is needed more than ever as we look to build an appropriate return to play programme, which is suitable for both on and off court activities, under the guidelines set out.  Our club, our members and our commitment to our wellbeing has never been so important.
