Charity fundraising

Saints Netball has supported various charities over the years, Teenage Cancer Trust, PAPYRUS and this year, our International Volunteering projects in Africa, to name a few.  In 2018/2019 we raised over £3,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust through running a number of events and through the proceeds from the SportsStripped Calendar.  Each year the Netball Club looks forward to organising the SportsStripped calendar and celebrating through the launch event. It is something which we have done for a number of years now as part of our fundraising for our chosen charity. We would like to thank all the Saints Sports clubs for their ongoing support and participation in the making of this calendar.

Fundraising in 2020

Saints Netball decides its chosen charity through a members vote each year at the EGM.  Over the last few years Saints Netball members have volunteered in Africa over the Summer months and the impact has been quite profound.  Saints Netball is planning to increase the impact of the programmes, making the work more sustainable and beneficial for those involved.  In order to do this, we are looking to invest in both the Volunteer South Africa and Volunteer Zambia projects.

All the money raised will be used to support set up costs, buy sports equipment for schools, help to initiate community projects which promote sport, and in particular netball, as an outlet and a safe space for many children.  We will send qualified netball coaches out who will run sessions and tournament days in local communities as well as ensuring local peer leaders are trained to continue this delivery.

For more information about our work and impact in Africa, please visit our International Volunteering page.

The club will continue to support our members as they fundraise to cover their individual costs.  Look out for more bake sales, sponsored events and socials to get involved with and to support our efforts with International Volunteering in Africa.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our fundraising efforts.
